Fees for Perdido Landfill and Oak Grove Citizens Convenience
Center (effective as of January 1, 2008):
There is
a $8.00 minimum disposal fee
for all loads except those consisting exclusively
of Household Hazardous Waste or End of Life Electronics.
The $8.00 minimum covers disposal of all loads weighing
500 lbs. or less. Any deliveries whose net weight
is less than 501 pounds will be charged the minimum
rate of $8. All loads which exceed 500 lbs. will be
charged a prorated fee based on the following rates.

Oakgrove Citizen's Convenience Center: Cash or Check

by federal, state, or local statute or regulation
is accepted for disposal at the Perdido Landfill.

Definitions
Class I Waste- Solid waste which is not hazardous or prohibited from disposal in a lined landfill.
Class III Waste- Yard trash, construction and demolition debris, processed tires (this means cut into 8 equal pieces), asbestos (call for an appointment when bringing to landfill so staff can be prepared), carpet, cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, furniture other than appliances, or other materials not expected to pose a threat to public health or the environment.
Special Waste- Solid waste that can require special handling and management, including, but not limited to; white goods (appliances), waste tires, used oil, lead-acid batteries, construction and demolition debris, ash residue, yard trash, biological waste, and mercury-containing devices and lamps. |

*The Perdido Landfill rate of $31 per ton for Class I
waste sets Escambia County prices among the lowest in the state according
to FDEP reports as of June 2000 (the most current available). Disposal fees range from $23-$92 per ton with
a statewide average of $41.62 per ton. Class I waste
is primarily household garbage generated by residential
type customers.

Rates
and fees for Escambia County's Municipal Solid Waste Disposal
Facilities are determined by
the
Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County by Resolution.
These rates were
approved
by Resolution #R2007-190 and effective as of January 1, 2008.
